Susanne Masters is an ethnobotanist. Her research on wildlife trade focuses on edible and medicinal orchids, from analysis of historical archives to evaluating incipient trade. Her PhD research is in collaboration with Naturalis Biodiversity Center. Applying methodologies of sustainable wild harvesting and equitable trade she works with businesses on ingredient selection. She writes about wildlife, places, and people for newspapers and magazines and is the author of Wild Waters.
