Taddese Zerfu

Taddese has completed a post-doctoral fellowship from Tufts University and holds a PhD in Food Science and Nutrition from Addis Ababa University. He has a Masters degree in Public Health specializing in reproductive health from Jimma University, Ethiopia. Prior to joining APHRC, he worked as a Senior Research Advisor at the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) in Ethiopia and an assistant professor of Public Health-Nutrition at Dilla University, Ethiopia.

Taddese is passionate about ending poverty in Africa through homegrown and knowledge-based solutions. He has keen interest to contribute his part across the continuum of evidence generation, synthesis and translation to transform African lives.

Taddese has authored and co-authored several journal articles in prestigious journals such as the Lancet Global Health and the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. He is a member of the Ethiopian Young Academy of Sciences (EtYAS) and other professional associations. He is also the winner of the 2017 Tore Godal research award, given to young scientists in Ethiopia. In addition to his profession, Taddese loves to read books from psychology, history, religion and global politics.
