Tamar Lichter Blanks

PhD Candidate in Mathematics, Rutgers University

I am a mathematics Ph.D. candidate and NSF Graduate Research Fellow at Rutgers University. My research is in algebra, a branch of mathematics that is about understanding symmetry in structure. In particular I am interested in quadratic forms, fields, division algebras, and Lie algebras, and I have also worked on projects in cryptography and in graph theory. For the summer of 2021, I am at The Conversation U.S. as an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Mass Media Fellow sponsored by the American Mathematical Society.
