I have an Undergraduate and a Masters degree in Linguistics and am now an AHRC funded PhD Student and hourly paid lecturer at Nottingham Trent University. My research interests are linguistics and weight stigma and my thesis focuses on the language used to represent obesity in British newspapers. I am a weight stigma consultant for The World Obesity Federation and worked closely with them on their 2018 World Obesity Day campaign which is centred around stigma.
