I hold a BA in English literature (Marietta College, USA), a Juris Doctorate (University of Cincinnati, USA), an LLM in International Human Rights Law (Essex) and PhD in Law (Essex). I am also a licensed practicing attorney in the State of Ohio, and a core member of the Essex Business and Human Rights Project (EBHR). I am currently the co-director for Essex's five postgraduate taught programmes in human rights. With EBHR, I advise states, business and non-governmental organizations on the impact of businesses on human rights, particularly in situations of conflict and post-conflict transitional justice. I have written several articles and book chapters, and have co-edited a book on business and human rights.
