Tawney Bennett

Tawney Bennett is a lecturer in law at the Truman Bodden Law School in the Cayman Islands, which is affiliated with the University of Liverpool. She teaches a range of subjects from criminal law and criminal justice, to company and environmental law. Tawney's research interests span the fields of criminal law, criminal justice, and criminology, particularly in prisons and punishment, sexual offences, and theories of female offending. Her practical expertise derives from her work in prisons as an independent researcher, in which she conducted research within sex offender-only institutions and the female estate. Tawney also has a keen interest in pedagogy and innovative practices in teaching and learning, which stems from her experience in teaching and learning focused roles such as School Lead for Teaching and Learning, and Programme Leader.
