Terezie Tolar-Peterson

Associate Professor of Food Science, Nutrition & Health Promotion, Mississippi State University

Dr. Terezie Tolar-Peterson is a specialist in human nutrition with national and international experience. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Public Health from the 3rd Medical School of Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. Her Master’s Degree in Clinical Nutrition and Doctorate in Adult Education and Leadership were obtained from The University of Memphis, Memphis, TN. Dr. Tolar-Peterson has a broad working experience that includes clinical experience, teaching, research, and community work. Her clinical experience consists of working as a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In 2015 she joined Mississippi State University as Dietetic Internship Director and Professor of Food Science, Nutrition and Health Promotion. Her research interest is in global health and personalized nutrition, especially in how genetic factors, together with environmental factors, can predispose us for health or disease. Dr. Tolar-Peterson is a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
