Associate professor, Griffith University

I am an expert in delivering research, analysis and policy to foster strategic development across the Pacific islands region. With more than 20 years’ experience of living and working in the Pacific, I understand its needs, issues and challenges, and have built strong networks with policy makers, opinion formers, key institutions and development partners.
I am a former Lecturer in Law at the University of the South Pacific. As a consultant, my clients have included the United Nations, the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation, The World Health Organization, the Asian Development Bank, the government of Vanuatu, the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, the Lowy Institute for International Policy, the Development Policy Centre, the Pacific Leadership Program, the Pacific Media Advisory Service (PACMAS), Pacific Trade & Invest (PT&I), Oxfam Australia as well as DFAT and the New Zealand Government.
I provide expert commentary to numerous media outlets, including ABC, SBS, Radio Australia, Radio National, Radio NZ, The Guardian Australia, BBC, Reuters,
