Thomas Klassen

Thomas Klassen is a professor in the School of Public Policy and Administration at York University. He has published widely on Canadian politics and policy and numerous other fields. His particular area of expertise is labour market policy including the transition from school to work and the role of training and education. He has held Visiting Professor appointments in Germany and South Korea.

He has been prepared experts reports and affidavits, research reports for various levels of government and international organizations such as the OECD, and briefs to Standing Committees.

He is co-author of 'The Essential Guide to Studying Abroad: From Success in the Classroom to a Fulfilling Career', and co-editor of the recently published 'Policy Analysis in South Korea', and 'Asymmetric Neighbours and International Relations: Living in the Shadow of Elephants'.

Other recent co-edited books books include 'Ageing in Asia-Pacific: Interdisciplinary and Comparative Perspectives', and 'The Routledge Handbook of Global Public Policy and Administration', a leading-edge guide for students, scholars and practitioners.

He is also author of 'How to Succeed at University (and Get a Great Job!): Mastering the Critical Skills You Need for School, Work and Life.'. A French language edition is available: 'Décrocher son diplôme (et l’emploi de ses rêves!): Comment maîtriser les compétences essentielles menant au succès à l’école, au travail et dans la vie.'

Based in Toronto, Canada, he travels widely.
