Associate Professor in Linguistics and Literacy, Swinburne University of Technology

Tim Moore joined Swinburne in May 2008 as a lecturer in the area of Linguistics and Academic Literacy. He is currently based in the Office of Student Advancement. He is also an adjunct research associate at Monash University in the School of Languages Cultures and Linguistics.

Tim's PhD thesis, titled 'Critical thinking and the disciplines', looked at the question of whether critical thinking is best thought of as a generic and universal skill, or one rooted in the epistemologies of specific disciplines. Tim was a founding member of the Association of Academic Language and Learning (AALL), and is co-editor of the Journal of Academic Language and Learning (JALL).
