Associate Professor, Department of Anthropology, McMaster University

I am a nutritional anthropologist and professor of anthropology who has been doing research for over two decades on the biocultural determinants of human nutrition and food security. I have worked in both Nepal and Canada on community-engaged food and nutrition projects, including those with newcomers to Canada and those living with food insecurity. Recently, I have been working on a project in the City of Hamilton called Mothers to Babies that supports pregnancy nutrition, particularly among those living with food insecurity. I am also currently partnered with the Hamilton Community Food Centre to evaluate and innovate their youth food programming.
