Tom Bassett has bridged academia and industry in the built environment for over 15 years, leading on community-scale building energy modelling and research using a combination of existing and emerging dynamic thermal energy modelling tools to predict and optimise total low-carbon system performances for multiple buildings.
His current role at Swansea University focusses on how buildings can serve as active agents in a local energy network, and how multiple active buildings at a community scale can benefit the energy infrastructure and improve resilience for both the grid and customers.
