PhD Candidate in International Relations, Royal Holloway University of London

PhD candidate based at the University of Kent.

My PhD research examines the Obama Administration's 'small-footprint' counter-terrorism strategy in its 'war' against Al-Qaeda's affiliates in the Sahel, the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. I have a particular interest in the drone campaign and the Obama Administration's turn toward security force assistance programs.

I am an assistant lecturer on the Contemporary Politics and Government in the United States module at the University of Kent, and am also the vice-chair of the BISA PGN network.
