My primary area of research is strategic management.
Within strategic management I have primarily focused on competitive dynamics, conducting both empirical and conceptual-theoretical research. Currently, another major theme in my research is collaborative strategies in business ecosystems, with particular emphasis on building and maintaining trust among actors.
My other areas of interest include philosophy (especially theory of action and conceptual analysis), technology management (especially the dynamics of technological development and adoption), and history of technology.
From an empirical point of view the industries I am most familiar with include computer hardware and software, mobile telephony (especially handset manufacturing), and passenger car manufacturing. However, some of my recent research has investigated also maritime logistics, and retail and forestry industries.
