Lecturer in Behavioural Finance, Griffith University

Through analysis of survey data, I investigate relationships between household characteristics, attitudes to risk, life events and financial decisions. Recent work has been published in Economic Notes, Financial Counselling and Planning, Financial Planning Research Journal, Journal of Family and Economic Issues, JASSA, the Consumer Interests Annual and a doctoral thesis entitled “Australian Household Asset Portfolios: Diversification, Ownership and Life-Cycle Events”. This work contributes to knowledge on investor behaviour, informing curriculum development and guidance for advisors in the financial services industry. I currently teach ‘Behavioural Finance and Wealth Management’, which explores the impact of behavioural biases on financial decisions, and actively engages Masters of Finance/Financial Planning students to reflect on their own biases and consequences for their own financial decisions, workplace decisions and their relationships with clients.
