Dr. Troy C Sutton is an Assistant Professor of Veterinary and Biomedical Research at the Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Sutton holds a PhD from the University of British Columbia, Canada, and has spent more than 10 years studying biosafety level 3 viruses. Dr. Sutton's areas of expertise include transmission of influenza viruses, influenza vaccines, and animal models of influenza and coronaviruses. The goal of Dr. Sutton's research is to understand the factors that allow viruses to infect and transmit between humans, thereby resulting in a pandemic. Simultaneously, Dr. Sutton seeks to develop better vaccines against these viruses and to determine vaccine formulations and strategies that can be used to block transmission in animal models.
