Umair Ghori

Dr Umair Ghori is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, Bond University. Umair’s research focusses on international trade and investment laws. Umair’s research has explored diverse trade policy themes such as global trade in textiles and clothing, trade and investment regulation in renewables, social licence to operate and the use of export restrictions in international trade.

In addition to research, Umair teaches a wide variety of subjects in the Faculty of Law, Bond University including contract law, international trade and business law and international investment laws. For his innovative teaching, Umair received the prestigious Stanley Shaw Prize for Teaching Excellence in 2019. At the Faculty of Law, Bond University, Umair is also supervising a group of PhD students exploring a diverse range of issues flowing from Australia’s national interest test in foreign investment regulation.

Prior to joining academia, Umair practiced as a corporate lawyer in his native country Pakistan. Umair completed his LLB (Hons) from the University of London and LLM and PhD from UNSW.
