Vivienne Lewis

Dr Vivienne Lewis is a Clinical Psychologist and Academic at the University of Canberra. She specialises in body image and eating disorders in her research and clinical practice and has been working in this area for over 20 years. Dr Lewis is the author of Eating Disorders - A Practitioner's Guide to Psychological Care, aimed at health professionals and trainees, including students, wanting to work with people with eating disorders. She is also the author of two books aimed at helping people of all ages with body image and eating issues, Positive Bodies: Loving the Skin You're In (a self-help book) and No Body's Perfect. A helper’s guide to promoting positive body image in children and young people. All three are published through Australian Academic Press. Dr Lewis supervises PhD, Masters and Honours students and teaches at all year levels. She's a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society. Dr Lewis offers workshops to schools, health services, and students on working with people with body image and eating issues and regularly speaks in the media.
