Willem Standaert

Associate Professor, Université de Liège

Willem Standaert is Associate Professor in the Strategic Marketing Innovation Department at HEC Liège, Management School of the University of Liège and Visiting Professor at Ghent University. His research interests are in the areas of virtual and hybrid meetings, digitally-enabled buyer-supplier interactions, and digital innovation with a focus on sports and financial services. Willem's academic work has been presented at scientific and business conferences and published in academic journals such as Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Information & Management, Information Systems Frontiers, Business Horizons, Electronic Commerce Research and Applications, Psychology & Marketing, Information Technology and Management, Information Technology & People, The Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance - Issues and Practice, and Journal of Information Technology – Teaching Cases. Willem’s research has been awarded the ARES exceptional prize "Gender and Covid-19" (2020) for research on virtual meetings and gender inequality and the UEFA Academy Grant (2022) for research on inclusivity in digital fan engagement.
