Yeptain Leung

Dr Yeptain Leung is a Postdoctoral Researcher and Lecturer in Clinical Speech Science at The University of Melbourne with specialism in voice sciences and disorders. He undertook his Master of Speech Language Pathology at The University of Sydney and his PhD at La Trobe University on the relationship between voice and listener perceptions of speaker gender. Yeptain's research currently focuses on gender-affirming voice care and voice ergonomics. He is a committee member of the Asian Professional Association for Transgender Health and has been serving the trans and gender diverse population in Hong Kong through provision of voice and communication training for many years. In 2016, he was awarded the Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship to undertake specialist research and coursework in trans and gender diverse voice and communication at Karolinska Institutet and has embedded elements of the Swedish way into his research and clinical practice. Yeptain is also a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Speech Therapists who has practised extensively as a speech pathologist in Hong Kong.
