Ying Luo

I’m an Australian born scientist with an interest in ecology, biodiversity and sustainability. I love learning about the world around us, particularly the insects. My research background has spanned insect diversity and marine plastic pollution, the common thread being an interest in understanding biodiversity and how humans interact with it.

Currently I am a PhD student studying the diversity and ecology of a group of leaf mining micro-moths (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae). I split my research time between the Australian National Insect Collection (ANIC) and the Australian National University (ANU).
