I have expertise in politics, political economy, civil-military relations, and media analysis. My works have been published in peer-review journals, including New Media & Society, Information, Communication & Society, Armed Forces & Society, and Journal of World-Systems Research. I have received grants from the US National Science Foundation, the American Sociological Association, the International Communication Association, and the State University of New York at Albany. I am also a Research Associate in the York Centre for Asian Research at York University, Canada.
