Protecting coastal settlements with tsunami software

A new piece of computer software has been developed to help protect vulnerable coastal communities from the destructive power of tsunamis.

The software can predict the flow of water created as a tsunami hits coastline and therefore any flooding that may result.

The software can therefore be used to inform the future design of buildings and other structures in tsunami-prone areas.
