People given scientific evidence supporting precognition (ability to predict the future) feel more confident and in control of their own lives, a study from the University of Queensland has found.
Study participants were given a paragraph either supporting or refuting the theory with scientific evidence. They then answered a survey about their sense of control over their own lives.
Researchers concluded that notion of psychic predictability may provide the psychological system with a compensatory boost in perceived life control.
