Renewable energy not a pipe dream with carbon price

A carbon price of under $100 per tonne of carbon dioxide would help to make fossil fuels less economical than renewable energies.

A new study has shown that by increasing the carbon price to a “medium” level of expense, all fossil-fuel based power stations in Australia could be gradually phased out and economically replaced with reliable and commercially available renewable energy technologies.

All technologies compared in the surveys are currently available for commercial use.
