Report says more could be spent on new medicines

A report from Victoria University indicates that more money could be spent on new medicines.

For the last two years about 15 medicines on average have been created, using money from the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.

However, the five years preceding that, about 30 medicines on average were being produced per year.
