Sandalwood seedling challenge tackled

University of Western Australia research engineers have discovered that sandalwood seedlings can be accurately metered through vacuum singulation techniques.

Using a modified established precision seed planting method, the design of the seed meter is specific for the large and irregular sandalwood seed.

Engineers studied the specific requirements of a mechanical sandalwood meter to replace current manual labour planting processes.
