Small benefit from male HPV vaccination for heterosexual men

Researchers have found that around three quarters of the maximum possible benefit from HPV vaccination for boys can be achieved by the current program of vaccinating 12-13 year-old girls. The study authors undertook a modelling analysis using preliminary data to estimate vaccination coverage among females. They did not look at the effect of not vaccinating males on the homosexual population’s chance of getting HPV-related cancer.
