The microbes, my friend, are blowin’ in the wind

Microorganisms have been found to travel vast distances and might even be able to blow between continents, potentially spreading disease.

Researchers used computer modelling to see what would happen if virtual microbes were released from the southern tip of South America and Mexico.

The airborne virtual microbes were found to travel many thousands of kilometres, landing as far away as Australia.
