My main areas of research as an English professor are postcolonial/decolonial and Black Studies, with special emphasis on the Caribbean region and Caribbean diasporas. I am also involved in interdisciplinary research on the contributions made by Black people to Canada's involvement in the First World War, including service at the front and on the home front. I am the principal investigator on the multi-tiered research project titled Black Canada and the Great War. My research modalities and dissemination methods center community involvement.
