BA from Grinnell College, Iowa (USA) and PhD in Population and Evolutionary Biology from Washington University in St. Louis (USA). Postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Genetics at La Trobe University (Melbourne). Teaching and research at the Albury-Wodonga campus of La Trobe University since 1993. Received multiple teaching awards from the Faculty, University and Australian Learning and Teaching Council. Research in conservation biology with an emphasis on evolutionary genetics. Has studied a wide range of organisms including fruit flies, honeybees, regent parrots, mountain pygmy possums, bogong moths, snowgums, and freshwater crayfish. Featured on ABC radio and TV (Ockham’s Razor and Catalyst).
