Bedassa Tadesse serves as a professor of economics at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He earned both his Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in applied economics from Western Michigan University. He completed his Bachelor of Science in agricultural economics and holds a Master of Science in development economics.

His academic research primarily explores the fields of international economics, with a particular emphasis on international migration and trade, as well as development economics. His work seeks to understand the complexities of economic development and the global economic interactions that shape our world.
