He is CEO of Summers & Company, a strategic management and cyber advisory firm that uses scholarship and practice techniques to evaluate management decisions to ensure that organizations can deal with a variety of uncertainty. A trusted advisor to Fortune 500 companies and governments worldwide, he specializes in the scholarship and practice of hacker cognitive psychology (the hacker’s mindset) and the normal chaos paradigm. He is a member of the Advisor Board for the CIP Institute, a non-profit Europe-based organization that brings together scientists and practitioners in the field of crisis. An advocate for community development, he is a mentor for startups through FounderTrac, a Maryland-based startup accelerator and sits on the Advisory Board of McKinley Technology High School, a science, technology engineering and mathematics (STEM) high school in the District of Columbia. Timothy carries a Bachelors in Computer Science from Elizabeth City State University, a Masters in Information Security Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Management from Case Western Reserve University.
