The level of on-field violence in AFL games has declined since the inception of the Match Review Panel.
Dr Ross Booth and Professor Robert Brooks of Monash University have analysed ten years of AFL tribunal data, from season 2000 to 2009.
The study finds that the decline of on-field violence under the Match Review Panel has had a positive affect on crowd attendance.
