Anti-American feelings aren’t always caused by television

Watching Arab television networks, like Al Jazeera, fuels anti-American feelings in some viewers but reduces such sentiment in others.

The study, by the Ohio State University, found that a viewer’s opinion of the US, was not determined solely by any anti-American television messages. “Overall, we found that a person’s political identity was key to determining how watching Al Jazeera or Al Arabiya influenced individual opinions about the United States” said researcher Teresa Myers.
