Children who sleep less more likely to be overweight

Young children who don’t get enough sleep are at a significantly increased risk of having a higher Body Mass Index (BMI) by age seven. Previous studies have shown a correlation between shorter sleep duration and increased body weight in children, but this did not necessarily mean less sleep was a cause.
