College degree helped US grads through recession

US graduates aged 21-24 years were less affected by the Great Recession than high school grads.

While employment of college graduates deteriorated by 7 per cent 16 per cent of high school graduates lost their jobs.

The study also found unemployed young people were less likely to take up study during the recession.
