Community support can almost double the chances of warding-off type 2 diabetes for people at high-risk of developing the disease, according to a recent study. While healthy diet, weight control and exercise are the keys to reducing a person’s chances of developing diabetes as they age, regular support meetings are a powerful influence on lifestyle, boosting personal motivation, mood and confidence. The Victorian Department of Health a study was evaluated by Swinburne University researchers.
