Existing copper supplies can last a century

Recent research at Monash Univeristy shows that existing copper resources can meet global demand for at least a century.

This is in contradiction to previous findings, which stated copper supplies would run out in 30 years time.

The results may lead to the mining industry slowing down, whereas rapid mining has had adverse effects, especially in third world countries.
