University of Galway

Established in 1845, the University of Galway is an Irish-English bilingual public research-led university in the city of Galway, on the west coast of Ireland. The University is ranked among the top 2% of universities, according to the 2018 QS World University Ranking.

The ethos of the university is to lead research, teaching and learning for the public good. It is made up of four colleges, 19 schools, five research institutes and its research pillars are enhancing policy and society; enriching creativity and culture; improving health and wellbeing; realizing potential through data and enabling technologies; and sustaining our planet and people.

The University has more than 21,000 students, from across the island of Ireland and overseas, more than 2,200 staff and research collaborations with 3,267 international institutions in 114 countries. The University has 110,000 alumni and 96% of graduates are in employment or further study within six months.
