Parents are the key to helping toddlers with autism

Toddlers who show early signs of autism respond better to treatment guided by their parents, than those who are treated other ways. In an American study, parents were taught strategies to help their children communicate, such as practising taking turns, encouraging eye contact and forming simple sentences to help the child express what they want verbally, when he or she points at something.
