Post-doctoral research fellow at London Research Institute

Andrew is a physicist making the transition to biology. He has is a computational biologist working at Cancer Research UK's London Research Institute, after a PhD researching magnetism and superconductivity at Oxford University. Andrew also spends a lot of time talking and writing about science; he won FameLab UK 2012 with a talk on the quantum mechanics behind the colour of carrots, and he has explained physics on television, radio and online. He also recently launched the Scienceogram, a campaign raising awareness of the diminutive size of our investment in research compared to the scale of the problems science is trying to solve.
