Dr Erika Martino

Research Fellow In Healthy Housing, The University of Melbourne

Erika Martino is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Equity, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health. Erika has over 20 years of professional activity in the built environment sector: as a designer, urban planner and GIS officer in both the private and public sector. Since following an academic path, Erika has developed a research program that seeks to advance evaluation frameworks to better leverage research – in turn advocating for increased corporate and state social responsibility in delivering healthy urban and social infrastructure. Erika’s current research explores how housing policy, programs and hybrid partnerships can promote violence prevention and health for marginalised groups through increased access to safe, affordable and quality housing.
