Senior Lecturer in Media & Communications, University of Sydney

Dr Fiona Giles is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Media and Communications at the University of Sydney, and the author of Fresh Milk: The Secret Life of Breasts. Her research interests encompass journalism, genre and gender studies; the role of pleasure in health promotion; and representations of breastfeeding and maternal sexuality. She also teaches creative nonfiction and feature writing. Her most recent publication is ‘“Reinstating Pleasure in Reality”: Promoting Breastfeeding Through Ars Erotica’, in Beyond Health, Beyond Choice: Breastfeeding Constraints and Realities (Rutgers University Press, 2012).
