Rainfall influenced by far-away climate conditions

Rainfall can be influenced by climate fluctuations that occur thousands of kilometres away according to new research from The University of Western Australia.

Scientists used ultraviolet light to examine corals off the coast of Madagascar and track the yearly changes and source of rainfall.

The findings provide more information about water resources and run-off in warming climates,say researchers.
