Scientists seek to determine sex of livestock

Farmers may soon be able to choose the sex of their livestock to increase productivity. CSIRO researchers are investigating the use of biotechnology to determine the sex of farmed salmon and prawns. The scientist also hope to provide cost effective and welfare-friendly ways to control unwanted animal pregnancies.
