Scoring method to check women’s diabetes risk, post-pregnancy

Pregnant women can now more easily assess their risk of contracting diabetes and cardiovascular disease later in life.

After a study assessing women with gestational diabetes (a type of diabetes that can affect pregnant women), researchers at University of Western Australia have established a formula to help identify with with gestational diabetes.

The formula uses a set of cut-off values and measures.
