Stress hormone might help ease fear of heights

A study by a team of European scientists suggests individuals suffering from a fear of heights could benefit from combining behavioural therapy with an oral dose of the chemical cortisol, a hormone associated with stress. Cortisol appeared to enhance the effectiveness of exposure therapy in people with an irrational fear of heights.
