Tassie tiger hunted like a cat

The now-extinct thylacine, or Tasmanian tiger, was an ambush-style predator. This hunting approach differs from wolves and other dog-like species that hunt in packs and pursue.

Analysis of the animal’s bones has revealed it was unable to outrun its prey over long distances, as its dog-like appearance might suggest.
