Trampoline safety study supports spring-free design

A “non-traditional” soft-edge trampoline design can significantly reduce the magnitude and severity of trampoline-related injuries by 30% to 80%, according to new research.

But “traditional” trampolines fitted with pads and netting enclosures do not necessarily provide a safer jumping surface.

The researchers argue stricter regulations and standards are needed to prevent trampoline injuries, as current safety standards allow the sale of dangerous products.
